The HS50's real advantage is that it needs nothing. It is a plain 3.5mm analogue headset, so it works over the headphone jack on a controller, a laptop, a phone with an adapter, or a monitor — no USB receiver, no pairing, no driver. For a device that mostly just needs to work, that beats every wireless headset here. The memory foam earpads and aluminium yokes are better than the price suggests.
The grab-and-go headset. It is the one that plugs into a console or a laptop without anyone having to think about it.
Wired means the cable is part of the deal — 3.5mm reaches, but not across a room. Being pure analogue, the mic is fine for voice chat and poor for streaming. The 3.5mm TRRS plug assumes a combined headset jack; newer laptops have separated headphone and mic ports and need an adapter.
