Setup / Keyboards / current

Aula S2022 in my setup.

A full-size 104-key board with a detachable palm rest, covering the times I need a number pad.

Why I chose it

The S2022 exists for the jobs the F75 cannot do. It is a conventional wired board — no wireless, no hot-swap, no gasket mount — and that is the point: when I want to type on something completely different, the plain mechanical feel and the audible blue switches make it feel like a different instrument. The detachable palm rest is more useful than it sounds, because it is the difference between this being a desk board and a laptop-replacement board.

How I use it

The full-size option. It takes over whenever I am entering a lot of numbers or want the audible click of a mechanical switch rather than the softer F75.

Trade-offs

It is a 2017-era design and it shows. Wired only, so it is tied to a cable, and there is no VIA or QMK support, so the Kreg blue switches and their bump cannot be tuned. It is also the largest thing on the desk, which is exactly the problem the F75 solves.
